JOB SUMMARY:
This position assembles, tests and integrates high power solid state laser systems. Takes an active role in the assembly of optical sub-assemblies as well as aligning and data collecting of the finished product.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Aligns laser systems to meet specifications.
- Assembles electro-optical and opto-mechanical assy using work instructions.
- Uses oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, power meters and other laboratory equipment.
- Maintains company inventory and quality control using ERP software.
- Performs final testing on laser systems.
- Troubleshoots laser systems.
- Follows all safety protocol.
- Maintains and complies with 5S and clean room procedures.
- Meets schedule deadlines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have at least 2 years of hands on laser experience.
- Associate’s degree or higher in Physics, Engineering or an equivalent degree from a technical school in electronics, optics or physical sciences.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical, optical and electrical specifications using drawings and manuals.
- Experience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, signal generators and power meters is a plus.
- Knowledge of software applications such as Word, Excel and Power Point to produce reports and graphs is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to use fingers to manipulate small parts.
- Ability to reach with arms and use hands to seize, hold and grasp objects.
- Excellent vision is required to perform job.
- Required to work with toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
