TECHNICAL SALES SUPPORT MANAGER
JOB SUMMARY:
The TSS Manager supports the Customer Sales Team by facilitating the success of the designated product lines he/she oversees.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Technical Support Functions:
Supports the Sales Team by answering customer technical questions
Works with the Sales Team to ensure the customer’s needs is accurately identified and understood, and the proposed specifications match customer’s needs.
In case of special or custom RFQ, evaluates the opportunity in close relationship with engineering and/or R&D to answer the RFQ.
Generates customer technical specifications to provide a clear understanding of the customer’s needs and technical requirements with support from Engineering and Operations teams.
Prepares technical descriptions of the applied products and technology to support the sales process.
Helps the sales team achieve turnover targets and develop customer portfolios.
Maintains pricing and margins requested by management for the designated product lines, including specials, he/she oversees.
Through collaboration with Procurement, Operations and Engineering, works to reduce product costs for the designated lines he/she oversees.
Keeps standard technical specifications for the designated product lines he/she oversees up to date.
Creates and provides technical training to Sales Team and other support staff.
Provides Technical support to After-Sales team as needed.
Operational Marketing Support Functions:
Attends trade shows and other marketing events as needed to support and promote the designated product lines he/she oversees.
During the next year budget preparation, proposes at the Comex a road map for the designated product lines evolution he/she oversees, either by increasing market share or increasing the margins through cost reduction (supply chain, industrialization).
Writes and publishes application notes for designated product lines he/she oversees.
Develops applications and product activities through an operational marketing strategy with a clear objective of revenue and margin growth.
Instigates product strategy for the designated product lines he/she oversees to address existing and new markets / applications, through product line positioning in conjunction with the support of Engineering and Development groups.
Organization:
Implements best practices for the Lumibird Photonics Division in terms of Sales and Customer Care reporting with associated tools and metrics.
Contributes to define projects priority with R&D, Engineering and Operations, in accordance with Business orientation provided by the Photonics Division Management.
Provides the forecast (SOA) to relevant manufacturing plants for the designated product lines he/she oversees.
Interfaces with Sales Team, relevant Manufacturing plants and Management team to identify production scheduling needs and advise priorities.
Develops, implements and manages information consolidation in Sales Force.
Develops, implements and manages other duties (yearly objectives) as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree or higher in Optics, Opto-Electronics, or another equivalent scientific field.
7-10 years of technical experience with industry related products, with preferred 3-5 years of experience providing technical support to Sales and Customers
Computer literacy including presentation, business analysis, e-mail and CRM experience.
Fluent in English both written and spoken. French speaking would be great!
Ability to positive management.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to create and deliver excellent technical, sales and business presentations.
Highly customer focused, constantly working to increase customer satisfaction.
Ability to manage the product life cycle of a product line in a technical field.
Current drivers’ license that meets requirements of Company insurance policy and all international travel requirements.
Successful completion of background check to meet company requirements.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing the duties of his job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear.
Travel requirements up to 25%, including international travel.
Must be capable of working in front of a computer for long periods of time.
